July 19th, Newcomers went on the Outdoor Adventure Catamaran Trip from Beaufort to Cape Lookout. The weather started out looking very ominous, but it turned out to be bright and sunny day as the pictures illustrate.

The beauty of the Cape Lookout lighthouse and its pristine surroundings is unparalleled. Everyone appreciated the stability and comfort of this 45 foot catamaran as we briskly made the six mile ocean voyage to one of the premier anchorages in America.

The 6 hour cruise departed at 12 noon for the 1-1/2 hour sail to Cape Lookout where everyone enjoyed 3 hours at two different locations. The first stop at the tip of Cape Lookout, we beached the boat and served up a delicious catered lunch from the Beaufort Grocery Co. Restaurant. On board the Catamaran has stairs that provide easy access on and off the boat for swimming, snorkeling and some of the best shelling on the East Coast. We then tied up at the government dock for our second stop allowing time to visit the Keeper's Quarters museum, the National Park store and the east beach of South Core Banks. We took a spectacular photo of the Lighthouse's 160 foot tower.
