January, 2014 Wine Social

The mid-summer festivity was hosted at Mark and Michelle's house. They live in Pamlico county in the countryside north east of Fairfield Harbor on the other side of route NC-55. Michelle has two horses and several of the ladies had to feed carrots to them. Until the sun set and Mark set a bonfire, the weather was accommodating and the back screened in porch was a prime spot for exchanging ideas and meeting old friends. The dining table was well supplied with all kinds of good things everyone could help themselves to, and the kitchen was abundant with good wines and beer. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the opportunity to say hello to friends they haven't seen in a month or so. It is funny how busy many of us are after retirement with all kinds of pressing matters! The wine social is a perfect time to turn off the clock and just say hello and how are you.

Thank you Jane Olstad for keeping the wine social going through the summer, and thank you Mark and Michelle for being gracious hosts this June.

The horses are always a big attraction. If only Mark had a big Harley HOG the men could gather around!

The kitchen and dining table were very well supplied with all kinds of goodies and they are always a center of attention for everyone there!

After a few hours of conversation it is time to relax in the living room on some very comfortable couches.
