Club President's Message
Greetings –
Our next meeting will be the Newcomers Outdoor Summer Celebration at Creekside Park, Rotary Shelter, 1821 Old Airport Road on Saturday, June 12th from 4:00 PM to 8 PM. You need to register with Cindy Harrington or Joanne Bogle no later than June 5th. The flyer and registration form are on our website. Â As we do with all events, we will continue to follow NC COVID guidelines at all times and I remind everyone that we are not permitted for alcohol.
Our last meeting was held on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Union Point. We began the day with an icebreaker game that got folks interacting with others and we had a fun challenging trivia game. That was followed by our speaker from the Craven County Parks and Recreation. We received an update from Randy Bogle our Activity Director and Randy had the Activity Leaders that were present update what was happening within their specific activity.
As my term as President is coming to a close, I want to thank all of the board members, activity leaders and members for hanging in there during this challenging year. Our goal as a board was to keep things going safely. As things get back to normal, hopefully soon, we can again move indoors.
At the Newcomers Outdoor Summer Celebration, we will introduce the 2021 – 2022 Board Members and Activity Leaders.

Activity Director Update
First, let me encourage all of our members to come out and enjoy the fun and camaraderie at our Outdoor Summer Celebration at Creekside Park, Saturday, 12 June, 4 to 8pm. Please go to our website for additional info and to register; deadline for registration is 5 June. Look forward to seeing you there!
We are in the process of updating the info posted on the activities page of our website, so please take a look and contact the activity leaders for any questions you might have about a particular activity or if you would like to join.  We have a new leader for Crafters, Barbara Paulsen. The group will resume crafting activities on June 17th at 1:00 pm. Please contact Barbara to sign up or for additional info at <mailto:bdpaulsen@gmail.com> . Thanks for your leadership, Barb!
