May 2024 President’s Note/Bill Brettschneider Nearing the end of my year as p[resident, it was been a rewarding journey – one highlighted by success and surprises, obstacles and opportunities. This past week afforded an unexpected window of reflection.
I just returned from the Newcomers extended day trip to Asheville and to Biltmore Estate, and I continue to be amazed by the beauty and variety found in North Carolina. We had a great time, made some new friends, and I highly recommend visiting the area if you have the chance.

Now that the weather is warming up, there are lots of New Bern Newcomers activities being planned. If you’ve been meaning to get out and play a sport, we have regularly-scheduled groups playing pickleball, tennis, golf, bocce, hiking, cycling and more.
Next club meeting : Thursday, April 11, 2024 Our featured speaker will be Suzanne Madison who will talk about Craven Community College’s Community Enrichment Program courses.

May 2024 President’s Message : “The one less traveled”
May 2024 President’s Note/Bill Brettschneider Nearing the end of my year as p[resident, it was been a rewarding journey – one highlighted by success and surprises, obstacles and opportunities. This past week afforded an unexpected window of reflection.
