Please remember to bring wine and a dish to share (appetizer or dessert) with your fellow Newcomer members. Also, the hosts can only hold a limited number of guests, so be sure to RSVP to reserve your spot. Lastly, there is an outside firepit, so please consider bringing an outdoor chair if you’d like to sit outside to enjoy that 😊

****Once the RSVP cap is met, we will maintain a Wait List. This event is getting larger and larger each month so to meet the demand, we are prepared to have a 2nd event to accommodate the interest in this activity, but without another host home, we will not be able to achieve this. Please consider being a host home.

As the new Activity Leads, we wanted to say hello and let you know how excited we are to chair this popular activity. Your interest and participation in this group have helped this activity reach the honored status of most popular within the club! So, a big thank you to all of you who have assisted us in achieving that distinction.

Seeking Hosts for 2023-2024 Season

As we look forward to planning the upcoming wine socials, we want to see who will be willing to offer their residence as a host house for a future event. We rely on our members to welcome the group into their homes. Wine socials are relaxed gatherings held at our members’ homes therefore the location each month moves around New Bern. Also, the number of wine social offerings are based on the number of willing hosts each month.

Hosting is easy - just provide an indoor/outdoor space and the host determines the number of guests allowed, the date, and the timeframe. Guests bring their own beverage of choice (usually wine), along with an appetizer/dessert to share with the group, and the club provides the glassware. This venue offers the members an excellent opportunity to mingle and socialize while enjoying wine and dining on some tasty treats.

Please respond to us and let us know what month you would prefer (along with a backup month). We will then connect directly with you to narrow in on the finer logistics: specific date, time, etc. The sooner we hear back, the quicker we can start to line up our calendar of events.

To Attend: Interested members will be emailed details of a scheduled activity a week or two in advance. Follow the directions in the email for RSVP requirements. If your plans change after indicating you will attend, please email the activity leader and/or the host to inform them you will not attend. To be added to the group's email list, sign up at a general meeting or email the group leader.

The Wine Social is open to all members of the Newcomers Club of New Bern.

Our June mini wine social was held on June 24th at the home of Darrell and Robin Melton. The weather was perfect in temperature, but the skies did shed a few rain drops! Our tents came in handy and the rain drops did not slow the conversation one bit!

Our first mini-wine social was held on on April 17th at the home of Lee and Cindy Harrington. The weather was perfect for socializing and everyone welcomed the opportunity to meet new people.
