The Newcomers Club offers many activities designed not only to provide you with new friends and fun, but also opportunities to learn, lead and laugh! Activity Groups can change depending on the interests of new members. Our current groups are listed here. Click on those you are interested in to learn about it. If you have a suggestion for another activity and you are willing to lead the group, please contact the Activity Director. You may contact Ellen Cioccio by email at ecioccio123@gmail.com.
How do you sign up? Most activity groups maintain a list of their active participants and communicate with them via email for upcoming events. You can email the activity leader to be added to the list for any group you're interested in or give them your contact info at the monthly general meetings. More detail regarding signups is given on each of the individual groups' web pages.

Participating in Newcomers Activities
Participation in any Newcomer Activity Group or Event requires that the prospective participant be a member in good standing in the Newcomers Club. For those events that are co-sponsored by both the Newcomers and the Alumni Group, prospective participants must be a member in good standing in either the Newcomers Club or the Alumni Group.
The following groups are co-sponsored by the Newcomers and Alumni clubs - Biking, Outdoor Adventure, Singles, Tastings.

TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE 2024 NEWCOMERS DAY AT THE WOOD DUCKS IN KINSTON
(Our June Away Day Trip)
SAVE THE DATE : THANKS TO OUR DAY TRIPS LEADER ANDY BRITTON, THE CLUB IS AGAIN ORGANIZING A VISIT TO KINSTON FOR A FUN DAY OF SOCIALIZING, FOOD AND PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL, SUNDAY, JUNE 16TH, 2024, AS PART OF THE CLUB'S OUT OF TOWN DAY TRIP FOR JUNE!
This could be the last year for professional ball in Kinston for a while as the Wood Ducks  will be heading to another pond as early as 2025, so you won't want to miss this!
The Wood Ducks will be hosting the Charleston Riverdogs, an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, at 1 p.m. The team plays at historic Grainger Stadium, 400 E Grainger Ave, Kinston, NC 28501.
Tickets , which include 90 minutes of all-you-can-eat hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and Pepsi products in the shaded Mother Earth Pavilion at Grainger Stadium, cost only $25 each.
How to purchase tickets
You can purchase tickets  by writing a check for $25 (per person)  payable to Newcomers Club of New Bern (please include  Wood Ducks game on the memo line) Checks  can  either be  mailed to The Newcomers Club of New Bern, PO Box 14140 New Bern, NC 28562) or you can bring the check to the April 11th. or and May 9th Newcomers club meeting. The deadline for sending checks is May 9th.
You will receive your tickets on game day at the stadium.
The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., though the 90 minute all you can eat period may start before the game. More details to come. This event is being held on Father's Day, so Newcomers Club members are welcome to buy these special tickets for their children and parents who may be in town. The Wood Ducks are a minor league affiliate of the 2023 World Champions Texas Rangers!
