Inaugural Newcomers Group Volunteer Project

The Newcomers Club of New Bern announced  during its November 2023 monthly membership meeting  it will begin to offer occasional group volunteer projects for members to take part in. Volunteering, like many of the other activities promoted by the club, is a great way to make new friends, learn more about our wonderful community while helping others.

The inaugural group outing will be to support the Wreaths Across America  project taking place in New Bern at noon,  Saturday, December 16, at the New Bern National Cemetery.

Honor and remember our fallen heroes by placing wreaths at the New Bern National Cemetery. The ceremony begins at noon, followed by placing the wreaths.

According to the local event’s organizers, there are approximately 7,600 veteran gravestones at our New Bern National Cemetery, located at 1711 National Ave, New Bern, NC 28560.
