Craven Arts Council & Gallery Featured at May 16th meeting
We are very happy to announce that our May 16th club meeting, which was rescheduled from its original meeting date of May 9th, at the Harrison Center, 311 Middle Street, in historic downtown  New Bern, will feature a speaker from the Craven Arts Council and Gallery.
May 2024 President’s Message : “The one less traveled”
May 2024 President’s Note/Bill Brettschneider Nearing the end of my year as president, it was been a rewarding journey – one highlighted by success and surprises, obstacles and opportunities. This past week afforded an unexpected window of reflection.
I just returned from the Newcomers extended day trip to Asheville and to Biltmore Estate, and I continue to be amazed by the beauty and variety found in North Carolina. We had a great time, made some new friends, and I highly recommend visiting the area if you have the chance.

A few weeks ago, I took the time to visit the town of Bath. My journey to this oldest town in North Carolina was organized by the Day Trips Activity group and was an event well attended and enjoyed.Â

Former Newcomers Club President Joanne Orluk Memorialized at Local Park
The plaque in memory of former Newcomers Club of New Bern president Joanne Orluk has been installed on a memorial bench at Martin Marietta Park in New Bern.
The Newcomers Club of New Bern’s next Volunteer Group Project -where you help your  community along with your fellow Newcomers Club members- is scheduled for the morning of Friday, Feb. 9, 2024. at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC in New Bern.
